Chapter 1 : World under the hepatopathy crisis today

Every year, there are 50 thousand patients died of liver cancer in Japan. Eighty percent of liver cancer was starting from hepatitis C.
Not only in Japan, various liver disease extended and spreaded in many countries all over the world. Numerous people in medical treatment field have taken this disease into a deep study in order to site effective therapy methods for hepatopathy, but high rate failure.
Now, let’s talk about the liver disease in Japan. In accordance with the statistics from Health Department of Japan in 2002, liver cancer death toll was 34637(23815 was male and 10822 was female).
To distinguish the death toll by cancered part. Liver cancer ranked in forth after lung, stomach and colorectal cancer. If add the number that people dying from liver cirrhosis (known as the prelude of liver cancer), the rank would be got to first. And liver cancer mortality will be increased gradually in the following days. In Japan, Virus Hepatitis was the lethal factor of more and more patients died of liver cancer.
80 percent of people dying from liver cancer were they suffered the hepatitis C first, 10 percent was caused by hepatitis B, and the rest 10 percent was caused by alcoholic hepatitis and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis etc.
